Biographies

KATIE ...
Katie spent her much of her childhood singing in a church choir and school chorus. At age 10, she landed her first solo, singing “Somewhere Out There” at a 5th grade concert.  At age 12, she won 1st Place singing that same song at the Illinois Grade School Music Association.  Shortly after Katie turned 19, she joined The Way Off Broadway Players. This talented group performed at many events in the Peotone, IL area. They raised a substantial amount of money for the Manteno Illinois Veterans home, and were fortunate enough to perform there for the brave men and women that have served our Country.  At age 25, she moved to Texas. While singing at karaoke competition finals, she met Butch Lawson, a Country Music Hall of Famer. Katie also met Phil York.  Phil is a recording engineer, producer, and winner of 3 Grammys. He mastered a cover of Katie singing “Crazy”, a song made famous by Patsy Cline. While at Phil’s recording studio, he let Katie hold one of his Grammys.  Katie said “It was one of the coolest things I’ve ever done!”  Katie took some time off from singing to be with her family, but is now back in the game and ready to perform!

RAYCHEL ...
Raychel is a veteran rocker of the Northwest Indiana/Chicagoland area.  She has performed with bands like Centerfold, Mistress, and Tekila Rose. She has also moonlighted with many other bands and solo projects during the past 15 years in the local music scene. Raychel always gives crowds a dynamic, entertaining and fun  experience. She got her start jamming in the late 90’s with bands like Shut up and Drive (The Deep River band) and The Bones, who helped shape her into a professional vocalist. Her deep love of music shows in every performance. Some of her influences include great artists and bands such as The Beatles, Heart, Tina Turner, Janis Joplin, and Susan Tedeschi.  Since Raychel is a lover of all music, she has also been influenced by many other genres of mainstream/underground artists, past and present. She is thrilled to be rocking again after a 4 year hiatus from the music scene.  Be sure to catch Rachel’s performance at an upcoming show!

LARRY ...
Larry began drumming at age 9 when he portrayed "The Little Drummer Boy" in a school play.  The fire really started to burn after seeing Ringo on the Ed Sullivan show in 1964.  Lessons and a real drum set followed.  He began playing in local bands and later majored in music, earning a Bachelor's Degree from DePaul University in Chicago.

After college, Larry became a drum teacher and joined the "Skafish" band.  The band signed with Miles Copeland's (Manager of "The Police" band) record company and went on a major European tour as the opening act for the Police.   Larry then moved to Los Angeles, and hooked up with the famous Iggy Pop and performed during a World Tour with Iggy's band.  Larry now enjoys his land in Indiana, and he continues to perform in bands.

GREGG ...
Gregg plays lead and rhythm guitars for Pandora Rocks. He has been playing guitar since grade school and was a music major in college. He has been playing in bands and forming bands since the early 70's and he knows what it takes to please an audience. Gregg has played jazz, country, pop, funk, rock, classic rock and progressive rock and has led several bands to regional popularity. Gregg and the keyboardist (Jerry) have put together Pandora Rocks by carefully choosing the best musicians in the region and thoughtfully formulating the musical theme and repertoire. Under his guidance, Pandora Rocks has become a first class band of performers.

PERRY ...
Perry started playing in bands at the age of 12. He later toured with Apalooza, an 8-piece horn band whose members would join prestigious bands like Wham!, The Mark Farner Band, Blood Sweat and Tears, The United States Navy Band, and The Northwest Indiana Symphony. Recent local bands include Salty Dogs and Jampagne. His high energy bass-playing is a key component of the thundering heartbeat of the Pandora Rocks experience.

JERRY ...
Jerry uses his unique talent and technical skills as the band's keyboard player. He is a classically trained pianist, arranger and composer that's been playing and performing since the age of 9. Throughout his teenage years and adult life, he has been a member of some of the top local bands. He has performed with "warm up" acts for top bands that call Chicagoland "home". Jerry studied piano, classical music, and theory at the Chicago Conservatory of Music, but his heart has always been in pop and rock music. After a long hiatus, Jerry returned to the music scene. You probably won't see Jerry in the spotlight, but his unique contribution to the band make Pandora Rocks a memorable experience.
